Artificial Grass On Roof Can Be Regard As Wind Driven Generator

The thought to to build a green garden in the roof or cover solar panels has been around for a while. However, an international team of scientists came up with an approach to plant a layer of "artificial lawn". In fact, every artificial blade is a miniature of the wind turbines and each a gust of wind can provide electricity to households

The so called wind driven generator is a vertical artificial grass. Each one side of the blade is coated with nanowires, and on the other side is coated with a material which is called indium tin oxide. When the wind blow leaves, nanowires and indium tin oxide will contact with each other, so electrons can flow from one side to another, thus electricity produced.

This way is called electrification by friction effect. Two different surface generates an electrical charge (it is the same with electrostatic principle)after contact. A team of scientists has created this new kind of artificial lawn to generate electricity. These scientists said, this method us particularly suitable for areas where the wind always changes. Such residential artificial turf can be covered in backyard, office, roof, garden, playground...
